Wires
Wire is used to construct the frame of the flower. The wire used for nylon flower is very pliable and comes in different thickness (gauge), 20, 22, 24, 26, etc. The higher the gauge number, the thinner the wire.

#20 and #22 gauge wires are made with a very thin layer of paper on the outside. These lower gauge wires come mostly in white, green and brown and are generally used for thin flower stem or leaf stem.

#24 and #26 gauge wires are coated with a thin layer of plastic or are spray painted. They come in a variety of colors, such as gold, silver, red, green, blue, and yellow. #24 and #26 gauge wires are most suitable for making the frames for flower petals and leaves.
